YOU’LL be panting instead of screaming with Movie World’s latest thrilling attraction.
Village Roadshow Theme Parks has launched the DC Rivals HyperCoaster Lift Climb to celebrate the record breaking ride’s first birthday and the views at the top are breathtaking — literally.
I was puffing and panting more than I’d care to admit on the climb yesterday.
I’m not as afraid of heights as I am of walking up stairs, especially 282 of them up the 61m tower, but the views from the top are worth it.
Oh, and the bragging rights at being one of the first people to climb to the top of the tallest, longest and fastest HyperCoaster in the Southern Hemisphere.
Village Roadshow Theme Parks chief operating officer Bikash Randhawa said he is excited for guests to experience the climb, and the Gold Coast, from a new angle.
“The DC Rivals HyperCoaster Lift Climb is an attraction that rivals all others and provides guests with incredible 360-degree views of the Gold Coast overlooking Movie World, Topgolf and the city’s skyline,” he said.
“The launch of the DC Rivals HyperCoaster Lift Climb also coincides with the first birthday of the attraction and we have been thrilled with the guest feedback on the ride and can’t wait for them to participate in this new experience.
“The DC Rivals HyperCoaster Lift Climb is an exclusive experience limited to only eight guests per climbing session, with one of our highly skilled operations team to provide unique information about the attraction on the climb.”
Officially launching this Sunday, the 45 degree angle climb is limited to eight people per trip and costs $99.99 per person.
You can’t take phones or anything not connected for the climb, so I’d recommend a GoPro for the ultimate HyperCoaster selfie or take a packhorse/photographer like I did.
Climbs will run before the park opens during the school holidays and every Sunday from then on.
Mr Randhawa said the climb was one to add to local bucket lists and I’d have to agree.
Plus, you get to wear a super flattering pair of overalls, so it’s a win for everyone.
