Matt Damon showed off his ripped physique as he enjoyed some time off from filming his latest blockbuster by spending time with his family and friends on a yacht.
Damon is currently filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in Italy alongside an array of other Hollywood icons.
Taking advantage of his day off from the Greek epic, Damon was spotted soaking up the sun on a yacht off the coast of Favignana last Friday.
The actor showed off a new look as he sported a very shaggy, grey beard with his hair slicked back.
Damon’s new movie The Odyssey is based on the Ancient Greek epic poem attributed to the poet Homer.
The blockbuster features Damon and Zendaya, 28, with her fiance Tom Holland, as well as A-listers like Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron.
The Academy Award winner first debuted his sculpted abs while filming the Christopher Nolan-directed film on the shore of Favignana Island last month.
He was seen going shirtless in front of cameras before warming up in a puffer coat between takes.
Meanwhile, last year Damon opened up about why he visits Australia so much with his family.
“After my dad died, we moved down there for four months and just went and camped all over the place,” Damon, 53, said.
“And just … I think because maybe he had never been, and it just felt like a place to go to make memories with my kids.
“Then every year we would return, even back during the pandemic. We were down there for about six months, and it’s just like a second home to us.
“We just love it and we love the people and everything about it.”
Damon opts to skip the American summer in favour of an Aussie winter, where he usually sets up digs in Byron Bay, the northern NSW hotspot his friend and co-star Chris Hemsworth calls home.
“We just have so many friends there. I’m coming back [this week] right after we open this movie. We’re going down for a couple weeks,” he said.
“I mean, we’ve gone the last three summers, our summer, your winter, and everyone’s like, ‘You’re going to Australia? It’s the winter there?’ And we’re like, ‘no, it’s great’.
“We just have so many friends down there, honestly. I mean 30, 40 people. Family, friends, just so many people that we love to go see.”
