THE new reality TV ‘wife’ of a Gold Coast man accused of helping scam up to $20 million off Queenslanders had previously said she was looking for a real life bad boy.
Melbourne’s Tamara Joy, 29, first met Daniel Webb, 35, at the altar on Nine’s reality TV show Married At First Sight.
They were hitched in a prerecorded commitment ceremony which screened on Monday night. It is unclear if Ms Joy is aware of the charge facing her TV ‘husband’.
During Monday’s episode, in the lead up to the ceremony, she said she really wanted a marriage like “Bonnie and Clyde”.
“Like, I don’t want him to be a robber or anything,” she said.
The Bulletin revealed yesterday Mr Webb is scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday facing an aggravated fraud charge.
Police allege he took part in manipulating vulnerable people to become “puppet directors” of 12 scam companies in early 2014.

The investors were allegedly asked to pay $500 to $1000 for a four-day trial of betting and investment software and then made to sign 12-month contracts.
It is alleged former Gold Coast detective Michael Featherstone masterminded the boiler room scam, which netted between $15 million and $20m.
Channel 9 declined to comment when contacted by the Bulletin yesterday to ask if they were aware of Mr Webb’s fraud charge, or if it was compulsory for contestants to reveal any criminal charges with the network.
After the commitment ceremony, Ms Joy said she was really impressed by Mr Webb.
“He’s a big man. He’s really strong,” she said.
“I love that he was taking charge. I think that shows a lot of his character.”

Mr Webb poured his heart out to over 1.2 million people who tuned in for Monday night’s episode revealing his struggles of being unlucky in love.
“I’ve come on this experiment because I want to introduce my son to the woman I’ve fallen in love with,” he said.
“It’s not easy being a single dad. I’m not coming into this competition half-arsed. I want to make sure I give it everything I’ve got. There’s a lot riding on this.”
Mr Webb and Ms Joy were both contacted for comment.
