JESSIKA Power admits her latest rocky relationship started as a more of a headline grab than anything — but actually became serious as she spent more time with Nick Furphy.
The pair have been an item for months, recently holidaying in Bali.
Power, who has family on the Gold Coast and is a frequent visitor to the Glitter Strip, admits to ATG this week: “The relationship wasn’t being taken seriously by either of us at the start. We were just getting to know each other and having a laugh with headlines — then developed feelings.”

She said of her Melbourne-based beau: “It took me a long time for Nick to convince me he did like me because I’d been hurt in the past and I was scared if I opened up again I’d get hurt.”

Even Power, who infamously cheated on her Married At First Sight reality TV show hubby with Gold Coaster and fellow show participant Dan Webb, mused this week that at times recently she had been thinking “maybe I need to be single and be on the GC”.

But her next move is anyone’s guess after the controversy magnet recently crashed the Logies at Star Gold Coast before a party night out at Surfers Paradise in Sin City with Valentino Beynon, son of playboy tycoon Travers ‘Candyman’ Beynon.
Power tells ATG she is thinking about spending a decent part of the rest of the year on the Glitter Strip but adds: “But who knows when I’m headed back to the Gold Coast for the long-term.”
