Kylie Minogue leads the Icons on the Time 100 list

As Kylie Minogue was awarded with a new accolade, Coldplay star Chris Martin revealed what he really thinks of the award-winning pop superstar.

Kylie Minogue’s global career renaissance with her Padam Padam era has landed her on Time’s list of the Most Influential People of 2024.

The Australian pop star, actor and winemaker was named in the list’s Icon category alongside filmmaker Sofia Coppola, actor Michael J. Fox and Spanish soccer champion Jenni Hermoso, who called out the sexual harassment she suffered during the 2023 Women’s World Cup presentation in Sydney last year.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, a long-time Minogue superfan who fell in love with her via his daily Neighbours fix, paid tribute to the pop high achiever for being an innovator who is “10 years ahead of everyone else.”

Martin said meeting the luminous star backstage at an early Coldplay gig was “otherworldly.”

“Kylie is so inspiring to me – she lives her life so gracefully and approaches every project with such passion and dedication,” Martin wrote in the Most Influential issue.

“She always seems to be 10 years ahead of everyone else, and she’s an artist who knows how to be of service, making songs that fans go on to love for years.”

It’s been a watershed year for the 55-year-old entertainer who returned to the US charts with Padam Padam last year as it was embraced as an anthem during Pride celebrations last year.

She also won a Grammy and was named a Global Icon at both the Brit Awards and the Billboard Women In Music celebrations.

She’s been immortalised as a Barbie doll and commanded respect and strong box office action with her acclaimed Las Vegas residency.

Minogue also signed a lucrative deal with Hollywood agency UTA to plot an American tour and seek acting roles.

“Time … Thank you for this incredible honour, being amongst such stellar company. This is mind-blowing to me and is making my heart FULLY Padam!! One of the #Time100 … W️oW,” Minogue posted on Instagram.

The annual list was topped by pop star Dua Lipa, not only for her impact on pop but for founding the influential platform, Service95, which spotlights humanitarian activism and culture leaders.

Other “influencers” to make Time’s list for 2024 include rapper 21 Savage, Superbowl champion Patrick Mahomes, Formula One driver Max Verstappen and Italy’s first female leader Giorgia Meloni.
