Kereel ‘Your Daddy’ Blumenkrants wins World Air Guitar Championships
A RUSSIAN man has shown the world that you don’t need to play an actual instrument to be a rock star — you just need to be really good on the air guitar.

A NEW air guitar king has been crowned, and for the first time it is a Russian.
Kereel “Your Daddy” Blumenkrants, 24, was praised for bringing more energy to the stage than any of the 15 other contestants in the 2015 Air Guitar World Championships in Oulu, Finland.
The competition, which requires contestants to play an imaginary “air” guitar to the best of their abilities, started off as a joke 20 years ago. There were a rock-breaking 38 entrants from all over the world, including Australia, the US, Japan and Italy, in this year’s contest.
Mr Blumenkrants continued to advance through several rounds in the competition before taking out the title.
Jury member Eric “Mean” Melin, world champion in 2013, said Mr Blumenkrants “simply exploded” in the third round.
He pulled away from the competition with his interpretation of the song Electric Butt by Finnish band Wedding Crashers.
