Kanye West has confirmed he will run for president again in 2024, but it was a question he had for Donald Trump that made the latter “scream”.

Kanye West has confirmed he will contest the 2024 US presidential election as a candidate.

West, now known as Ye, posted his first campaign video for his second run for America’s highest office. He also ran in 2020, garnering 70,000 votes, compared to Joe Biden’s 80 million.

The video, which was a one-minute and 51-second stream of consciousness ramble recapping a meeting he had with Donald Trump at the former president’s Florida compound, Mar-a-Lago, revealed West’s campaign logo, a simple “YE24” against a blue background.

West also claimed in the footage that he asked Trump to be his vice president, with Trump “most perturbed” at the suggestion.

“Trump started basically screaming at me at the table, telling me I’m going to lose. Has that ever worked for anyone in history?” he said.

Trump announced last week he would run again for president in 2024.

West’s 2024 presidential run follows a tumultuous few years for the rapper, producer and provocateur in which he has forged ties with far-right figures, including Milo Yiannopoulos and Nicholas Fuentes. He attended Trump’s Mar-a-Lago dinner with the latter.

Fuentes is a white nationalist and Holocaust denier. In the video, West claimed he urged Trump to listen to loyalists such as Fuentes.

After West’s antisemitic rants and a stunt involving “White Lives Matter” T-shirts at his fashion show, he lost a slate of corporate partnerships including the lucrative Adidas deal.

“White Lives Matter” is a slogan closely associated with white supremacist groups.

In the ensuing melee, West was also dropped by his talent agency, Gap and Balenciaga while Vogue said its global stable of titles would not work with him again.

West claimed he lost $US2 billion in one day when those ties were severed.

He was also banned from social media sites, but his Twitter account was later reinstated.

Earlier this week, Rolling Stone reported claims of “porn, bullying and mind games” and a “toxic environment” among the team who worked on his Yeezy shoes at Adidas.

Adidas workers claimed West showed pornographic images of ex-wife Kim Kardashian as an “intimidation tactic”.

These incidents were also detailed in an open letter titled “The Truth About Yeezy: A Call to Action for Adidas Leadership”, which was obtained by Rolling Stone.

In it, many high-ranking Yeezy employees called out the Adidas executives for turning off their “moral compass” and allegedly allowing West to create an “abusive” company culture.

Employees noted that the public got just a taste of West’s problematic behaviour when he released a 30-minute documentary on YouTube in which he showed Adidas executives porn — a common occurrence according to the insiders.

In the Fisheye-lens footage, the 45-year-old held his phone horizontally in front of the uncomfortable businessmen while a video played.

“Is this a porn movie?” one of them asked, to which West replied, “Yeah”.

“Jesus Christ,” one of the men, who had his face blurred out, quipped back.

“Come on, man. Come on,” the man said while pushing the phone away as West tried to force them into watching more.

Former employees further claimed to the outlet that West would constantly show pornographic images and videos — including his own sex tapes.

“I feel it was a tactic to break a person down and establish their unwavering allegiance to him, testing and destroying people’s boundaries,” one person said, while another claimed that West specifically targeted female employees.
