THE alleged incident that prompted Amber Heard to file for divorce from Johnny Depp isn’t the first time the Hollywood star is alleged to have lashed out and thrown a phone in a fit of anger.
As the Gold Coast Bulletin revealed in March last year, Depp busted his hand in a similar incident after he lost his cool following a heated telephone row with Heard while he was on the Gold Coast filming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
DEPP BUSTED HAND AFTER ROW WITH HEARD
Senior Pirates 5 production sources told the Bulletin at the time the argument followed a “wild weekend bender” on March 7-8 at the luxury Coomera property Depp was renting from Mick Doohan.
Insiders told the Gold Coast Bulletin Depp busted his hand after he lashed out, threw a phone and smashed a mirror following a heated argument with Heard, who was filming in the UK.
They said Depp and Heard fell out within weeks of their wedding when Depp started “partying too hard” after he arrived on the Gold Coast in February 2015 to begin work on the film.
Depp was spied drinking backstage at the Foo Fighters show at Suncorp Stadium in February and jumped up onstage to play guitar with Marilyn Manson and his band when they played The Tivoli, in Brisbane.

Depp returned to the US on March 11 for surgery and underwent “in-home rehab” treatment, before returning nearly six weeks later with Heard and the dogs.
Despite assurances his absence would not cause any major delays to the $300 million blockbuster, more than 200 crew members were stood down without pay as filming ground to a halt.
When the couple finally arrived back in Australia with Pistol & Boo, Heard was banned from the Pirates 5 set by the film’s producers, who were tired of disruptions caused by the couple’s constant fighting.
In a sworn affidavit lodged the day before her ‘doggate’ trial in Southport Magistrates Court last month, Heard, said she returned from New York to Los Angeles on April 18, 2015, to find her husband under 24-hour watch.
At the time, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported film industry insiders in Australia and the US said family, friends and colleagues had become increasingly concerned for the wellbeing of the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales star.
“When I returned to LA Johnny was on a considerable amount of medication and had 24-hour medical care,” Heard wrote in the affidavit.
“The whole situation could be described as crazy and I wasn’t sure if we were going to leave for Australia.
Production sources at the time told the Bulletin Depp was undergoing “in-home rehab” treatment in LA under the watch of older sister, Christi Dembrowski, after injuring his right hand on the Gold Coast.
A confidante told New York Post today that she found Heard “battered and bruised” last December after Depp allegedly tried to suffocate her with a pillow during a drunken rage.
“This incident really stuck with me because she confided in me that day that she feared for her life after an intoxicated Johnny tried to suffocate her with a pillow,” Heard’s friend said.
