TWILIGHT star Kellan Lutz and Transformers Isabel Lucas will walk the red carpet on the Gold Coast for the Australian premiere of their new film, SFV1: The Osiris Child.
The premiere, at The Arts Centre Gold Coast on April 21, is one of the highlights of this year’s 15th annual Gold Coast Film Festival, from April 19-30.
Lutz and Lucas will be joined by castmates Teagan Croft (Home And Away), Temuera Morrison (Star Wars, Green Lantern, Moana), director Shane Abbess (Infini) and producer Brett Thornquest for the highly anticipated screening, to be followed by a Q and A session with Lucas and Abbess.
Set in the future in a time of interplanetary colonisation, the film follows an unlikely pair as they race against an impending global crisis — and are confronted by the monsters that live inside us all.
It’s not the first time Lutz and Lucas have shared the big screen — the actors worked with each other on director Tarsem Singh’s 2011 drama Immortals.
Filmed in NSW in 2015, SFV1: The Osiris Child also stars Rachel Griffiths and Daniel McPherson.
It’s one of nine Australian premiere screenings on the program for this year’s Gold Coast Film Festival, which boasts 32 feature films from 13 countries, including four world premieres, eight Queensland premieres, a host of short films, events, panels and intimate Q & A’s with filmmakers.
The festival will open with the Queensland premiere of the fast-paced, adventure film Pork Pie on April 19, with director Matt Murphy, producer Tom Hern, executive producer Alan Harris and star James Rolleston to attend the opening night screening.
Inspired by the iconic 1981 Kiwi classic Goodbye Pork Pie, the film captures the story of mismatched trio of accidental outlaws, played by Dean O’Gorman (The Hobbit), Ashleigh Cummings (Puberty Blues) and James Rolleston (Boy), as they speed across New Zealand in a stolen MINI Cooper on a madcap caper.
