A newly single Britney Spears cut a low-key figure in a Mexico bar – but she said she was “embarrassed as hell” to be spotted.

Newly-single Britney Spears has been spotted cutting a low-key figure at a restaurant in Mexico – but the star has told her fans she’s feeling “embarrassed as hell” to have been spotted.

Spears, 41, who recently split from husband of one year Sam Asghari, was seen looking relaxed at a bar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in clips that have surfaced on social media.

TMZ reports that Spears was at a bar called Baja Diablo with a bodyguard and a female friend.

Spears shared one of the tabloid shots of herself in the bar to her Instagram account, confessing she was “embarrassed as hell” that she’d been spotted.

“I walked in like a deer in headlights and had no idea I was being recorded from all sides,” she wrote.

I’m only human and I have no idea what the hell is going on with my hair but I made a pit stop in Mexico!!! I’m headed to Italy now to grab my favourite spaghetti and meat BALLS!!! I know the owner there so hopefully he can get me in through the back door‍️!!!”

Spears’ low-key international holiday comes as she seems to be living her best life following her sudden split from Asghari, who she dated for six years before marrying in a star-studded ceremony last year.

Earlier this week she got a brand new tattoo, showing fans the snake design that now adorns her lower back. And the usually reclusive star has also recently hit the town with some of her pals, sharing photos from a wild night out she enjoyed with several male friends.

Perhaps understandably given all that social media activity, fitness influencer Asghari recently unfollowed his ex on social media.

Britney is also readying the release of her much-anticipated tell-all book, The Woman In Me, on October 24.

Little is known about the contents of the book, but she dropped another hint on Twitter today when she posted a clip of her iconic performance at the 2001 MTV VMAs, in which she performed with a giant albino python wrapped around her shoulders.

“One of my favourite performances was with an albino python … I still remember how scared I felt when I was handed this snake and took the stage !!! I talked more about this performance and other favourites in my book #TheWomanInMe … I can’t wait for you to read it,” she wrote.
