LUCY JACKSON is a self-confessed “basic gal” and she is on a mission to help others find stardom on Instagram – just like her.
“If I can do it – anyone can,” the 29-year-old fashion designer said.
“You do not have to be rich, famous or a supermodel to have a positive influence.
“I’m definitely none of those things – I’m a basic AF girl with an Instagram community of cool people.”
Thanks to her wild and colourful Instagram account, Ms Jackson is now the co-owner of fashion label Jagger and Stone, co-hosts ‘The Happy Hour’ podcast and works with Bondi Sands, Sass and Bide and UE Boom.
The Insta-star opened her first personal page in 2011 “to mainly edit photos”.
Less than 10 years on Ms Jackson runs four successful accounts including “We The Wild Ones” with her best friend Nikki Westcott, which had 150,000 cult followers.
“The punters (nickname for our followers) are the most incredible group of people and they have quite literally changed my life,” the Burleigh star said.
“Without Instagram I doubt I would be where I am today.”

Her new status, a degree in marketing and journalism and years of research into Instagram content creation led her to develop “The Basic Girls Guide” – an online course to help the next generation create a personal brand with a strong following.
Her first intake of 300 students are currently learning about analytics, photography, editing and caption creation from Ms Jackson and her friends Tammy Hembrow, Em Davies and Lily Brown.
“I just loved creating an environment on Instagram where people that follow you actually care about what you say,” Ms Jackson said.
“It is hard work but having an influence is one of the biggest gifts.
“I hope to inspire others to share their voice – no matter what their passion, message or purpose is.”
