Gold Coast Suns fans quick to snap up Queen concert tickets at Metricon Stadium

Lucky fans have been snapping up tickets to see Queen + Adam Lambert at the Metricon Stadium in a special pre-sale they go on general sale. And it’s not too late for to gain pre-sale access.

FANS have been quick to snap up tickets to one of the Gold Coast’s biggest music events in history.

Pre-sale tickets for Queen + Adam Lambert opened online for Gold Coast Suns and Telstra members at 11am today, with huge demand from fans.

The iconic band, accompanied by frontman Adam Lambert, will take to the stage at Metricon Stadium on February 29, 2020.

The VIP onstage opera experience, which includes a behind-the-scenes tour, buffet dinner and complimentary massage for $1541.15 per ticket, was completely sold out within the first two hours.

Only single seats were available in the reserved seating closest to the stage.

But there were still plenty of tickets available, ranging from $101.10 for seated area to $949.85 for front row standing room and VIP perks.

Suns CEO Mark Evans said it was a major event for the Gold Coast, and members were jumping at the chance to get the first tickets.

“We knew it would be a popular thing for the Gold Coast but it’s still very pleasing to see them going like hot cakes,” he said.

Mr Evans said it wasn’t too late for fans to gain pre-sale access, with all Suns memberships sold during the weekend also providing access to the sale, before tickets open to the general public on Monday morning.

Meanwhile planning is underway for a major pre-concert event for all ticketholders.

“It will be last day of summer, and we are looking to build a pre-concert event with local and international food offerings, champagne and cocktail bars and have a twilight picnic in the fields adjoining the stadium,” Mr Evans said.

“We want those people who attend to have the most amazing, memorable experience, and we also want to showcase to promoters that the Gold Coast and Metricon Stadium can build special events, so that they can’t ignore us on the national tour schedule for future concerts.”
