Two ambitious sibling actors hoping to have their big Hollywood break this year have had to ice their plans while the pandemic runs its course. But now they’re back on set.

TWO ambitious sibling actors hoping to have their big Hollywood break this year have had to ice their plans while the pandemic runs its course.

Brother and sister duo Elizabeth Cullen, 23, and Julian, 22, were planning their life after the Gold Coast filming of Australian TV series The Bureau of Magical Things.

When production wrapped up later this year, they were both set to embark on their own solo adventures after being side-by-side on the Magical Things set for four years.

“I had plans to go to LA because I have management there,” Elizabeth said.

“I was going to go and start those steps. But now (the Gold Coast) is the best place to be.”

Julian said he was planning to stay in the country and focus on more Australian stories.

But right now the pair are just thankful to be back at work this week after a four-month break in filming the series – it has resumed filming in a Broadbeach Waters mansion.

The pair were originally from Cairns but moved to the Gold Coast in 2016, leaving behind their family.

They started studying film and television together at Bond University before getting picked up by the major production.

The brother-sister acting duo in character for The Bureau of Magical Things.

The Bureau of Magical Things executive producer Jonathon M. Shiff said once he found out they were a brother-sister acting duo, he couldn’t say no and completely rewrote the script to fit them.

Elizabeth says: “We’re very close in age and have always had very similar interests.

“We’ve always had compatible skill sets as well. But I didn’t think we would ever work together, it’s just bizarre.

“Obviously we have clashes but we also understand it’s professional.”

Julian added: “We work together so well. It’s good to have support and someone to lean on”.

“It’s good to have a routine again,” Elizabeth said.

“Some days you think ‘I should be creating’. There was lots of anxiety around feeling like you weren’t creating.”
