DWAYNE ‘The Rock’ Johnson has posted a sneak preview of one of the Gold Coast-filmed scenes from earthquake disaster epic San Andreas only weeks before the blockbuster’s release.
With just over three weeks to go before the $100 million blockbuster hits screens across Australia, The Rock has this morning shared a scene from the film not featured in the official trailer.
The clip was shared on Instagram and shows The Rock in his role as a former emergency services helicopter pilot who rescues a woman from a cliff face.
“Months of working with elite search and rescue helicopter pilots for my role,” he wrote alongside the clip.
“As I’ve been telling all the first responders I’ve discussed the movie with — I hope we make you proud.”
San Andreas tells the story of a rescue chopper pilot and his estranged wife who travel across California to rescue their daughter in the wake of a massive earthquake.
The Rock last year shared photos of himself and the crew filming the action-packed scene on the Gold Coast, along with a video showing him carrying out his own abseiling stunts.
The actor and WWE wrestler says he performed more stunts on San Andreas than in any of his previous films, which include the Fast and Furious franchise, GI Joe: Retaliation and Hercules.
Much of the movie was shot at the Village Roadshow studios on the Gold Coast early last year, as well as locations around Brisbane, Ipswich and the Lockyer Valley.
San Andreas will be officially released in cinemas on May 29.
