Kyle Sandilands has had to scale back his antics in the bedroom in the wake of his brain aneurysm diagnosis.

Speaking on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Friday, the radio host said that his doctor issued a stern warning for him to keep things “vanilla” behind closed doors as he learns to live with his condition.

“He said I can live a normal life just no extremes,” Sandilands told co-host Jackie “O” Henderson live on-air.

“No extreme staying up too long, no extreme drinking, no extreme anything, including the sex.”

“I’m not allowed to have, like, a Meriton weekend. You know what I am saying?’ he said, referring to the hotel chain often booked by couples seeking a romantic escape.

Sandilands then added a Simpsons reference, saying he was restricted to having “normal Ned Flanders sex” with his wife Tegan, referring of course to the straitlaced character from the cartoon.

Before doctors found an aneurysm in his brain earlier this month, Sandilands and Tegan openly shared their plans to have another baby. The couple already share 3-year-old son Otto.

“We were just talking yesterday and we will probably start working towards the new child [this] year, I think – that’s what we’re really doing,” Sandilands, who is also a judge on Australian Idol, told the Daily Telegraph in January.

“But we’ve gotta time that out though because I don’t want to be away on auditions for Idol next year when she’s about to give birth, so that’s gonna be well-timed.

“Bruno will have to get the calendar out,” he added, referring to his manager Bruno Bouchet.

For now, Sandilands is focused on monitoring his aneurysm to ensure it doesn’t evolve.

Kyle Sandilands reveals worrying health update

The aneurysm is located at the front right side of his brain and doctors originally wanted to undergo immediate surgery.

But the aneurysm is more challenging to remove than previously thought. The only option is by drilling a hole through his skull the size of a drinking glass.

“The shape of [the aneurysm] has limited the operation they can do,” he told listeners earlier this month.

“So, remember, they were going to thread it through a vein and stick a little cannula in there and put this coil in there. Well, mine’s the wrong shape for a coil. So they can’t do that.”

“The only option to get to it is to [open the skull]. That will mean I have this huge scar from the forehead to top of ear and they would have to drill a hole in my skull, go into the brain and clip it off.”

Sandilands then said doctors have told him to give the surgery much thought as “leaving [the aneurysm] and monitoring it” until it gets bigger will actually cause less problems.

“As soon as I do any procedure my risk goes right up,” he said of his doctor’s advice.

“[My doctor] told me to take the weekend to think about it. It’s not going to, like it’s unlikely, rupture over the weekend. It’s on the smaller side, he said. But he has had patients bleed out with much smaller aneurisms. So it’s not a joke.”
