GOLD Coast convicted conman Peter Foster isn’t exactly keeping a low profile on release — he has been involved in a verbal row with a local radio star.
Foster, released from prison two-and-a-half months ago after being charged with fraud last year, was at swanky Marina Mirage eatery Omeros Brothers Seafood Restaurant last Sunday afternoon.
But it wasn’t all champagne and caviar in a quiet corner for the mid-50s repeat offender who has done jail time in the UK, US and Fiji too.
Gold Coast radio star AJ Johnston tells ATG the pair ended up having words in the restaurant.
Johnston, who co-hosts Gold FM’s breakfast show with Bridge Daley and Spida Everitt, claims he was approached by Foster over past bad blood between them.
During their row amid diners, Johnston alleges Foster accused him of recording him about an historic matter and forwarding it to authorities.

Johnston says he told Foster if he believed that “you believe in Santa Claus”.
“I had ignored him until he stood up and stood in my face,” Johnston tells ATG.
Once they fired their respective verbal salvos at each other they returned to tables and carried on.

Back in August, Foster opened up on his most recent release from a NSW prison saying he planned to turn his life around and concentrate on giving — rather than taking.
He reckoned his latest prison stretch was his worst “by far”, adding: “What jail taught me this time is how important my family is to me, and how unimportant I am to everybody else.”
