AUSSIE actor Tim Franklin is celebrating spending the past 18 months starring on hit TV soap Home and Away.
The Gold Coaster, 28, has been playing police officer Colby Thorne on the set of Summer Bay for 142 episodes.
Asked to describe what it’s like on set, Franklin said: “It’s pretty full on.”
“You’re worst possible day is getting picked up at 4.30am and getting home at 8pm,” he says.
“I’ve done a few of those. Colby’s been busy since he’s been on the Bay. But it’s so good.
“The people (on set) are so cool. The cast, the crew, everyone,” he tells ATG.
“The amount I’ve learnt from filming, sound, where to stand, the cameras everything, it’s like an institution.”

Franklin left the Gold Coast in 2007 to study a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) before leaving for Sydney to take his acting career “more seriously”.
Asked if he misses the Gold Coast, he said “absolutely”.
“I love coming back and seeing family, and being so close to the water,” he says.

He’s hoping after his time has come on the Bay, he will score himself a gig in a Hollywood film.
“I want to shoot a film, work on a big one. Something I can work on for a long period of time. That would be great,” he says.
Franklin is the son of new Moncrieff MP Angie Bell’s partner Ros Franklin.
