Charlie Sheen’s ex Brooke Mueller quizzed by cops over Matthew Perry’s death

Police have seized several items belonging to actress Brooke Mueller as the investigation into Matthew Perry’s death nears the end.

Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife Brooke Mueller has been named as the celebrity questioned “multiple times” by police in connection to Matthew Perry’s death.

The 46-year-old had an iPhone and a laptop seized when officers arrived with a search warrant during her stay at a sober living residence in May.

The actress wasn’t arrested or handcuffed and has been co-operating with authorities investigating the US actor’s accidental death aged 54.

“She’s hired lawyers and has had multiple meetings with law enforcement since they arrived at her sober living house with a search warrant,” a source told InTouch magazine.

“She’s being tight-lipped about the situation.

“It’s tough to say or know exactly what her role is [in Matthew’s death], but she’s adamant she had nothing to do with that.”

Perry was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home October 28, with an autopsy determining anaesthetic ketamine was a contributing factor in the Friends actor’s death.

The report, released in December by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, further ruled drowning was a secondary factor.

The ongoing investigation into Perry’s death has so far found “multiple people” should be charged, with a law enforcement source working on the probe saying the case was nearing its conclusion.

And while Perry was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy to treat anxiety and depression, the autopsy noted the high levels in his system were in the same range for surgical general anaesthesia.

It’s what prompted a Los Angeles Police Department investigation to ascertain how the actor received the drug.

As for how Perry and Mueller knew each other, the insider claimed that the pair met in rehab where “they formed an unexpected friendship”.

“Mueller had been in treatment with Matthew before, and they had a lot of ties in the acting community,” the source said.

“It was an unexpected friendship, but they leaned on each other.”

Sheen’s lawyer, who has represented the actor for years, has since addressed the ordeal after news broke Mueller as the mystery celebrity being questioned by cops.

“This extended family has worked hard to restore serenity to their ecosystem – to the great benefit of their children,” lawyer Gregory J. Pedrick said.

“I believe Ms Mueller’s past choices may have put her in a position to provide some incidental, anecdotal background to the authorities investigating Mr Perry’s death. Nothing more.”

Perry had published his autobiography Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir, in 2022, which detailed his addiction struggles over the years.

He also wrote candidly about using ketamine to treat pain and depression.

“Ketamine was a very popular street drug in the 1980s. There is a synthetic form of it now, and it’s used for two reasons: to ease pain and help with depression,” Perry wrote.

“Has my name written all over it — they might as well have called it ‘Matty’.”
