KANYE WEST was noticeably absent from Monday night’s Met Gala festivities.
His wife of nearly four years, Kim Kardashian, who attended the swanky event in a head-to-toe gold Versace number, said her hubby was too swamped with work to make it.
“Love you babe wish you were here with meeeeee but you’re only finishing up 5 albums,” the 37-year-old quipped on Twitter in response to his tweet of her in her gown.

Perhaps his absence was planned as his recent remarks on slavery, opioid addiction confession and more have drawn criticism of the famous family.
Kardashian’s sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner along with their mother, Kris Jenner, were also in attendance.
While she looked calm on the carpet, Kardashian’s complete look was almost ruined after she forgot her press-on nails.
Katy Perry, who arrived at the gala dressed as a guardian angel, saved the day.
After a fan tweeted a photo of Kardashian showing off her nails to Perry, the star explained, “Katy actually flew my nails on her plane over to me from LA LOL. They are just glued on! So had to show her!”
I can already hear Kim.

The Met Gala is the biggest event on the fashion fundraising calendar, and is renowned for attracting the world’s biggest stars. The Anna Wintour-hosted ball is an opulent celebration of style, and this year’s benefit was no exception.
This year’s theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” was met with controversy, but the curator of the Costume Institute Andrew Bolton said “dress is fundamental to any discussion about religion”.
Some celebrities, including Rihanna, Katy Perry, Sarah Jessica Parker went all out with the theme. Rihanna’s pope-inspired costume had tongues wagging, while Sarah Jessica Parker wore a nativity scene on her head.
Others, including Kardashian and her sisters, opted for a more understated glamorous look.
