The 2024 Oscars have come and gone.
The annual Hollywood ceremony is the peak of awards season, so no wonder the stars brought their fashion A-game to the event held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles today.
The who’s who of Tinseltown gathered for the 96th annual Academy Awards ceremony to celebrate the best the film industry had to offer this past year.
But the glitzy event wasn’t all about nods and nominations. All eyes were also on the showstopping gowns adorning the red carpet.
Margot Robbie was among the last to arrive at the event and while she looked divine, some fans are convinced she could have looked better.
The Barbie star wore a strapless black Versace gown with draping around the hips as she waved to photographers and fans alike.
But some critics online were left wondering if her simple black dress and lack of accessories and glam was her way of protesting against her Best Actress Oscars snub.
“I think this dress is a protest against the Academy … all black, no accessories, hair and make up very neutral,️” one fan wrote, while another said: “Black because she was snubbed. Take a stand girlllll! Don’t give them what they want!”
Yet another fan commented: “She’s always beautiful. but is this a protest dress for not getting the Best Actress nomination?”.
One even concluded, “Barbie is in grief for her non-nomination.”

Meanwhile, Vanessa Hudgens took her red carpet moment to debut her pregnancy.
The High School Musical star, who co-hosted ABC’s Countdown to Oscars: On the Red Carpet Live!, announced she is expecting by walking the red carpet with a baby bump.
Hudgens, who married professional baseball player Cole Tucker last year, stunned in a floor-length black Vera Wang gown as she embraced her growing bump.
Unlike Hudgens, Lisa Koshy didn’t make such a gracefully entrance on the red carpet. The actress unfortunately stacked it as she posed for photos in her red, off-the-shoulder Marchesa gown:
Eva Longoria thankfully didn’t follow suit, looking sensational in a figure-hugging Tamara Ralph gown with accent shoulders:

Oppenheimer was the big winner on the night, taking home 7 wins from 13 nominations, including Best Actor for Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr, and the coveted Best Picture title.
Poor Things also cleaned up on the night, winning 4 Oscars from 11 nominations.
The black comedy starring Mark Ruffalo and Emma Stone won Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Achievement in Production Design, Best Achievement in Costume Design and, of course, Best Actress for Stone.
