Melissa Leong has flaunted an entirely new look as she stepped out at a glitzy event in Melbourne.

The former MasterChef Australia judge, 41, turned heads at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Gala Saturday night rocking an edgy blonde bob – a stark change from her usual dark brunette hairdo.

It’s unclear if Leong’s fresh hairstyle is the handiwork of a wig, though she posted a photo of her ensemble on Instagram, writing, “Yes, I’m a blonde now.”

Leong was well and truly the red carpet highlight at the event, where, along with her glamorous new cut, she wore a fitted, mermaid style Alexander McQueen red gown and accessorised with Tiffany and Co diamonds.

The Dessert Masters judge was in good company at the opening of the annual NGV Triennial exhibition, with Australian actor Liam Hemsworth posing for photographers with his long-term girlfriend, local model Gabriella Brooks.

ABC presenter Tony Armstrong also made his red carpet debut with new musician girlfriend Rona Glynn-McDonald, after unveiling their relationship on Instagram Thursday.

The loved-up pair were the picture of glamour at the star-studded affair, with Glynn-McDonald wearing a long-sleeve silver gown while Armstrong amped up the traditional black tuxedo with a sequined finish.

The Logie Award winner – considered one of Australia’s most eligible bachelors – shared a series of photos unveiling his new romance last week, which showed the pair together, including intimate photos of them kissing.

Gylnn-McDonald, who performs under the name stage name Rona, is a Kaytetye musician and producer based in Melbourne.

Among other attendees at the opening night were model Maria Thattil and her partner, former AFLW player Moana Hope.

Politicians were also part of the elite guest list, including Victoria premier Jacinta Allan, and former Victorian premier Dan Andrews and his wife Catherine.

NGV Triennial has curated a collection of more than 75 projects by some of the world’s leading artists and designers, with the exhibition running from now until April.

‘The NGV Triennial has become the place to see the best in contemporary art and design all under one roof – right here in Melbourne,” said Minister for Creative Industries Steve Dimopoulos.

“We bring the biggest and best art exhibitions to Victoria because we know how important they are to attract visitors, support local jobs and boost businesses.”
