Jennifer Lawrence has long been considered one of the most relatable celebrities, and she’s just proved why.
The Oscar-winning actress, 32, stepped out at Cannes in a glamorous red Christian Dior gown for the premiere of Anatomie d’une Chute (Anatomy Of A Fall).
The Hunger Games star, who welcomed her first child, son Cy, in February last year, initially hit the red carpet in a pair of matching red heels.
However, she was later photographed at the venue wearing more comfortable black thongs.
Lawrence is at Cannes to promote a documentary she produced, Bread And Roses, which follows the lives of women fighting for their rights in Afghanistan amid the Taliban’s takeover in 2021.
“Obviously, the Middle East is extremely complex and very far away and after you see things on the news so much, it can make something safely two-dimensional,” Lawrence said at a press conference.
“The fear of everyone moving on and forgetting led us to try to make something more permanent.”
She added, “My heart was beating so fast watching these women defy the Taliban. You don’t see this side of the story, women fighting back, in the news every day and it’s an important part of our film, and the stories of these women.
“They currently have no autonomy within their country. It is so important for them to be given the opportunity to document their own story, in their own way.”
Lawrence is next expected to feature on the big screen in the Columbia Pictures’ comedy No Hard Feelings, which also stars Matthew Broderick, in theatres June 22.
