Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has stepped out with a bold new look that’s garnered comparisons to everyone from Donald Trump’s late ex-wife Ivana to Joanna Lumley’s iconic comedy character, Patsy Stone.
But in fact, the 21-year-old star confessed it was another famous blonde who’d inspired her new look.
Speaking at the premiere of her new Netflix film The Electric State, where she wore her bleached-blonde hair in an up do and posed in a heavily structured, beaded gown, the former child star revealed she was channelling none other than Pamela Anderson with the makeover.
"She's an icon. A lot of these references I am pulling are her,” said Bobby Brown, who met the actress – in contention this awards season for her starring role in The Last Showgirl – at this week’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The young actress walked the red carpet with her husband of nine months, Jake Bongiovi, son of famous rocker Jon Bon Jovi. The pair even shared a passionate kiss for the cameras.
Bobby Brown’s new look garnered a mixed reaction on social media, with some comparing her to Czech-born Ivana, who died in 2022 aged 73.
“Why did 21 year old millie bobby brown dressed up as ivana trump?” one person on X asked.
“Thought this was Ivana Trump,” another tweeted alongside a photo of Bobby Brown walking the red carpet.
“Why does she look like Ivana Trump?” another asked.
Later on at the event, Bobby Brown changed into a more comfortable ensemble of black pants, pink pig-shaped mocassins and a pink velour tracksuit jacket, which elicited more “celeb lookalike” comparisons on social media, this time to Dolly Parton and Jennifer Coolidge.
“Baby I thought this was Jennifer Coolidge,” one person tweeted in response to the pics.
Bobby Brown stars alongside action man Chris Pratt in The Electric State, a sci-fi adventure film set to be released on Netflix next month.
And while interviewed on the red carpet for the film’s premiere, she dropped the latest in a series of hints that she might be in line to play another iconic blonde, Britney Spears, in the upcoming biopic based on her 2024 tell-all book.
“I mean, she is an absolute icon, I would love nothing more than to be a part of her story,” she said.
“But that’s her story, and I am in full support of her bringing her story to life how she wants to. I would always be open to something like that.”
