A star-studded ensemble lit up the red carpet at one of Melbourne’s most prestigious galas.
Hollywood glitterati, including US actress Julia Fox, joined Australian celebrities for the annual National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Gala exhibition on Saturday night, with a style spectacle so dazzling it would look right at home on New York’s Met steps.
Among attendees included former The Project host Carrie Bickmore, who wore a high-fashion white Paolo Sebastian gown.
Bickmore, 44, posed on the red carpet in her showstopping dress, which featured a fitted corset and sheer tulle fabric emblazoned with black cursive writing.

The radio host shared more photos of her outfit on Instagram, prompting hundreds of glowing comments from her followers, with Jules Sebastian simply writing, “Wowza”, while Sunrise host Natalie Barr said, “The coolest.”
Meanwhile, Uncut Gems star Fox, who is renowned for her boundary-pushing outfits, was a surprise sighting at the local event, hitting the red carpet in an edgy look, with Gaga-esque platform heels and a grey crochet slip dress from Australian label Catholic Guilt.
Fox, 34, also rocked ultra-long blonde hair and dramatic eye make-up.
Dessert Masters judge Melissa Leong brought the drama with a vampy black lip teamed with a frizzy bob, expertly co-ordinated with her artistic Romance Was Born strapless gown.
Among the flurry of high-profile attendees were Toni Collette, Joel Edgerton, Teresa Palmer, Rachel Griffiths and Australian supermodel Shanina Shaik.

This year’s NGV Gala celebrated the launch of the Yayoi Kusama exhibition.
It marks the largest collection the famed Japanese artist has ever showcased in Australia, with almost 200 of her works on show.
The sellout gala kicked off the months-long, ticketed exhibition, which will be at the National Gallery of Victoria until April.
“There are few artists working today with the global presence of Yayoi Kusama,” NGV director Tony Ellwood AM said.
“This world-premiere NGV-exclusive exhibition allows local audiences and visitors alike the chance to experience Kusama’s practice in deeper and more profound ways than ever before.
“We are indebted to Kusama for allowing us to share her worldview and creativity with Australian audiences.”
