The 51st Annual American Music Awards are on today in Las Vegas, back after a two-year hiatus with triple-threat Jennifer Lopez set to host.
She’s also performing the opening number at the awards, part of a line-up that includes Benson Boone, Gwen Stefani and this year’s Icon Award recipient, Janet Jackson.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar is the night’s most-nominated artist, with ten, followed by Post Malone with eight. Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey all received seven nominations each.

Speaking to USA Today ahead of her hosting gig, J Lo said the AMAs had always been “such a big part of my music journey and history,” even dating back to her pre-solo artist days.
In fact, Lopez made her AMAs debut as a dancer with New Kids on the Block all the way back in 1991.
Lopez spent the early part of the 90s as a back-up dancer, including for this year’s Icon Award winner, Janet Jackson.
