Aaron Taylor-Johnson made a rare red carpet appearance with his wife, Sam Taylor-Johnson, and two of her adult children on Wednesday.
The Kick-Ass actor, 34, and the Fifty Shades of Grey director, 57, posed for photos together at the premiere of his new movie, Kraven The Hunter, in New York City.
The couple also brought along Sam’s two daughters –– Angelica Mara Jopling, 27, and Jessie Phoenix Jopling, 18 –– whom she shares with her ex-husband, Jay Jopling.
Aaron, Sam, Angelica and Jessie all wrapped their arms around each other while smiling for photos. The family appeared to be in good spirits while posing for photographers.
Back to Black director Sam dazzled in a long-sleeve maroon sequined midi dress with black tights, black strappy heels and dainty silver hoop earrings.
Meanwhile, the actor matched his wife by wearing a maroon velvet blazer over a long-sleeve button-down, black pants and black shoes.
The married duo also took some pictures together sans kids, and looked lovingly at each other while smiling for the cameras.
Aaron and Sam met while working on the movie Nowhere Boy in 2008, when he was 18 and she was 42. They started publicly dating the next year.
They also share daughters Wylda, 13, and Romy, 12, who were not present for the family outing.
Aaron later clarified to E! News that the tweens couldn’t attend the premiere as they’re not “old enough to watch” the R-rated film.
“When they come of age, they’ll be able to see it,” he told the outlet.
Sam and Aaron welcomed their two daughters together before tying the knot in 2012 when he was 22.
The Bullet Train actor has defended their 23-year age gap plenty of times over the years, Most recently, he explained that he feels a “protectiveness” toward their relationship in an interview with Rolling Stone UK.
“You’re doing something too quickly for someone else? I don’t understand that. What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It’s bizarre to me,” he told the outlet in March.
“People see and perceive this thing around my career, and that’s OK. But I’m just trying to juggle my family and my work,” he added. “I’m doing normal life; dentist appointments. Career doesn’t necessarily take a back seat, but it takes a different thought behind the choices that you make.”
Sam has also stood by her man, telling the Guardian in April that their age differences have “never” been a problem for them.
“It is just people upset with their own sadness; with misgivings about their own life,” she told the outlet, while clarifying that her daughters do not “care” about the criticism.
“They see two loving, happy parents, so it doesn’t really register. They just think people are a bit mean, or mad.”
