Princess Mary jets into Sydney for 24-hour business trip

Welcome home, Princess Mary! The Danish royal was spotted jetting into Sydney late last night ahead of a quick 24-hour business trip.

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has touched down in Australia for her first official engagement in her homeland in a decade.

The 51-year-old Danish royal, who was born and raised in Tasmania, was photographed arriving in Sydney late on Thursday night after arriving from Fiji.

The mother-of-four, who married Prince Frederik of Denmark in 2004, is here to highlight the “consequences of climate change in the Pacific Region”, a statement from the Danish royal family read.

During her trip to Sydney, Mary “will participate in an event with Danish business representatives involved in the green transition in Australia, as well as visit a number of Danish-clad projects related to sustainable construction and transport.”

The future Queen consort of Denmark is only spending 24 hours in Australia, before jetting back to Europe ahead of her attendance at King Charles III’s coronation in London on May 6.

The princess was also in Vanuatu and Fiji this week to raise awareness about challenges local communities face in regards to climate change.

Mary recently visited Australia in a private capacity with her family for Christmas last year, where she spent time in her home state of Tasmania.

Her and Frederik’s four children, Princess Josephine, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Prince Christian, joined them for the holiday.

Posting a picture on the Danish royal family’s Instagram in December, Mary wrote: “Merry Christmas from “Down Under” – where we celebrate Christmas in Tasmania.

“Here it is neither frostbite nor just trees but summer and warm weather.”
