Kate Middleton has revealed potential plans to visit Australia for the first time in more than half a decade.

The Princess of Wales, who was attending the St Patrick’s Day Parade for the first time since 2023, was all smiles as she arrived at Wellington Barracks to chat with crowds.

At the event, she told Corporal Adam Hamilton, an Australian reservist, that she was keen to find the time to return down under.

“George finds it fascinating that he has been to Australia and New Zealand. “It’s finding time to do that. “But I love to travel – yes, it’s a long flight … There are so many opportunities now to travel, I think it’s brilliant to experience it.

“We tend to go further afield when it’s official visits – it’s being able to carve out time to experience these countries in a more private capacity.

“Because otherwise you end up seeing lots of insides of amazing buildings but you don’t get to meet that many people.

“It’s making sure that you can combine a bit of work with the children.”

The Princess then ended her chat by adding that she might see Hamilton down there.

Kate, decked out head-to-toe in festive green with an Alexander McQueen coat dress and matching hat, also put money behind the bar following the annual parade at Westminster.

According to The Sun, she told them it was “the least I could do” for those attending the afterparty.

The last time the Princess of Wales visited Australia was in April 2014 for a 10-day tour with William and a very young Prince George.

During her time Down Under, she visited numerous spots including Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Uluru and Adelaide.

The Princess previously spoke of wanting to visit Australia “very soon” back in 2023. However, it’s likely that her cancer diagnosis ended up throwing a spanner in the works.

This January, Kate confirmed she was in remission and has since returned to her royal duties.

Last October, King Charles and Queen Camilla toured Sydney and Canberra in their first visit to a Commonwealth realm since the coronation.

It was Charles’s 17th visit. His late mother came 16 times over the course of her lengthy reign and became a beloved figure Down Under.
