Prince Louis makes unexpected debut in honour of his mum, Kate

The six-year-old son of the Prince and Princess of Wales has just had an unexpected launch – for a very significant reason.

Prince Louis has made his photography debut, following in the footsteps of his famous mum.

The six-year-old’s stunning picture of the Princess of Wales was shared by Kensington Palace to mark World Cancer Day.

In the candid image, Kate is seen beaming in a forest in Windsor, with her arms spread widely as sunbeams filter through the trees.

A second picture showing frost-covered leaves up close, taken by the princess herself, was also shared.

“Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease. C #WorldCancerDay,” Kate wrote alongside it.

Kate is well-known to be a keen photographer, and is occasionally the source of official portraits of the royal family shared by the Palace.

After her cancer diagnosis and months-long course of chemotherapy treatment last year, she has recently begun making what’s been labelled a “gradual return” to public life, while poignantly marking the life-changing experience of battling the disease.

Last month, she returned to the Royal Marsden Hospital in west London to thank the National Health Service staff who had treated her, and shortly afterwards confirmed that she is now in remission.

Over the weekend, a Palace source also informed the UK’s Times that the royal protocol of sharing details of the outfits and accessories worn by the princess was now coming to an end.

“There is an absolute feeling that it [the public work] is not about what the princess is wearing. She wants the focus to be on the really important issues, the people and the causes she is spotlighting,” a Palace source told the publication.

“There will always be an appreciation of what the princess is wearing from some of the public and she gets that. But do we need to be officially always saying what she is wearing? No. The style is there but it’s about the substance.”
