Prince Harry made a quick stop off at Buckingham Palace after the King’s coronation on Saturday but he did not meet with his family, reports claim.
Before returning to the US, Prince Harry stopped off at Buckingham Palace for “logistical reasons” but did not see the royal family, the Telegraph reports.
However, according to The Telegraph, sources emphasised that this was not because of the tensions between Prince Harry and his family, but rather more “practical reasons”.
The claims have been queried by Princess Diana’s former bodyguard, Ken Wharf, who said the tight timings meant there was “no way” the Duke could have stopped off at the Palace.
“From the West End to Heathrow, you’re looking at about 35 minutes under police escort, that’s the quickest you’re ever going to do it,” he told the Mail Online.
“My own view is I can’t see any point in him going to the Palace, there’d be nobody there to receive him anyway and all his family were there at the Abbey for the coronation.
“I think it’s highly unlikely he stopped off. I can’t see any reason for it.
“It sounds ridiculous but the only possible reason would be to stop off if he felt unwell.”
The Duke of Sussex made a whirlwind trip to London for the historic event, dashing off to Heathrow to catch a British Airways flight back to LAX after the ceremony ended.
He was eager to return to California to be with Meghan Markle for their son Archie’s fourth birthday.
