Prince Harry arrives in Tokyo without Meghan Markle

Harry was spotted arriving in Japan solo ahead of a whirlwind two-stop tour amid a challenging few months for he and his wife.

Prince Harry has touched down in Japan on a whirlwind solo trip.

The Duke of Sussex was spotted smiling as he made his way through Tokyo airport on Tuesday, dressed casually in a black T-shirt and a baseball cap featuring the Archewell logo.

Harry was joined by his close friend, professional polo player Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Figueras.

His wife, Meghan Markle, was nowhere to be seen and it’s believed she stayed home in California with their two young children, Archie, 4, and two-year-old Lilibet.

Harry and Figueras are in Japan for this week’s ISPS Sports Values Summit – Special Edition, which celebrates the power of sport, community and philanthropy.

The pair will then head to Singapore to take part in a charity polo match for Sentebale, an organisation co-founded by Harry in 2006 which supports vulnerable children and young people in Botswana and Lesotho.

Harry’s solo work trip follows news he and Meghan are set to adapt a best-selling book into a Hollywood film in their first major deal since the axing of their Spotify agreement.

Page Six reports that Netflix footed the bill, with the couple’s production company chosen to produce it.

The couple’s debut off-camera project for the streaming service marks a significant shift in direction from their previous personal documentaries – including the documentaries Harry & Meghan and Live to Lead, and the upcoming Heart of Invictus.

A Sussex source recently claimed to People magazine that they’ve been experiencing “growing pains” in their careers following their abrupt exit from the UK and royal duties.

While little else has been officially announced regarding their next moves commercially, Harry and Meghan are confirmed to head to Europe next month for the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany.
