A Mexican socialite has furiously denied any suggestion of an affair with Crown Prince Frederik, as new details about their night together in Madrid emerge.

Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary put on a united front on Wednesday after Spanish magazine Lecturas printed pictures of the heir to the Danish throne attending a Pablo Picasso exhibition with a Mexican socialite in Madrid.

Pictures also showed Frederik and Genoveva Casanova, a divorced actress, out and about in the city on October 25.

Ms Casanova has flatly denied any suggestion of an affair and has indicated she may take legal action.

Lecturas has now printed further details of Frederik and Ms Casanova’s meeting.

According to the publication, following their visit to the Pablo Picasso exhibition at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum the pair walked around El Retiro Park in the city.

The magazine then claims that Frederik and Ms Casanova both went to her apartment building separately.

They then remerged two hours later, again separately, before both getting into the same white car.

Both had changed into evening wear.

They then drove to Spanish restaurant El Corral de la Moreria where they watched flamenco dancers. The performance didn’t finish until 12 and Frederik and Ms Casanova stayed until 1am.

When they left the restaurant, a car approached and Frederik opened the car door for Ms Casanova before getting in himself.

The next day Frederik travelled by car to the airport and flew home to Denmark.

Princess Mary showed her support for her husband after the first Lecturas story broke earlier this week.

The royal couple were all smiles when they stepped out in Copenhagen to mark Spanish King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s three-day state visit.

The duo were snapped alongside the Spanish royals and were joined by Frederik’s mother Queen Margrethe and his aunt Princess Benedikte.

Mary attended a dinner at the Glyptoteket Museum on Wednesday evening where she wore a necklace with an 18-carat gold petite letter necklace with the initial ‘F’ in a tribute to her husband.

The royal couple have not commented publicly on the articles but Ms Casanova has “flatly denied” all accusations regarding an alleged affair.

“I flatly deny the statements that suggest a romantic relationship between Prince Frederick and me,” the model told Spanish magazine Hola!

“Any statement of this type is not only completely untrue but also distorts the facts in a malicious manner.”

Ms Casanova said she only joined Frederik when another acquaintance pulled out and he asked her to go in their place.

Sources close to Casanova said she and Frederik were simply “old friends” who have “several mutual acquaintances”.

Ms Casanova is a household name in Mexico and is also a celebrity in Spain, where she lives.

She has appeared on numerous reality shows including The Masked Singer, Spanish Celebrity MasterChef and The Chase.

In 2005 she married to Spanish author Cayetano Martinez de Irujo one of the five sons of the late billionaire Duchess of Alba.

The couple have two children, 23-year-old twins Luis and Amine, who live and work in Britain.

They split in 2008.

Neither Mary or Frederik have commented publicly on the allegations and on Thursday shared an Instagram video to promote their annual “Royal Run”.

Mary famously met Frederik in Sydney back in 2000 during a chance meeting at the Slip Inn pub during the Olympic Games.

The couple have been married for 19 years and have four children Prince Christian, 18, Princess Isabella, 16, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 12.

When Frederik becomes king Mary will become the world’s first Australian-born queen.

Since marriage Mary has dedicated her life to learning her husband’s native language and fulfilling her royal duties.
