Hidden personal nod in new Meghan video

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted a rare personal detail in Meghan’s latest social media video.

Eagle-eyed royal watchers have spotted a sweet personal tribute in Meghan Markle’s latest Instagram video.

The Duchess of Sussex took to her newly-activated account to share a Reel thanking singer Billie Eilish for sending through signed merchandiser, after a teenage fan’s mother told Meghan she’d been left devastated at losing her concert T-shirt in the LA wildfires.

In the selfie-style video message, Meghan wore a high-necked black top – which featured the names of her rarely-seen young children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, embroidered in white on the collar.

“About two or three weeks ago, when my husband and I were in Altadena, we went to a community where all the homes were left in ashes,” Meghan began in her video, referencing the deadly Eaton Fire that ravaged the Los Angeles suburb last month.

“This mum had found a couple things, and as I was talking to her, I turned and looked and I saw this young woman, and I said, ‘oh, my gosh. How old are you?’ She’s 15. She lives there.”

The teenager’s mother then told Meghan that her daughter had immediately looked for the Billie Eilish concert T-shirt she’d left in the dryer when they’d been able to return to the ruins of the house – but it had been destroyed, along with everything else.

Archie and Lilibet – seen here on their family’s 2021 Christmas card – have been kept out of the spotlight.

“And so I said, ‘I don’t know Billie Eilish, but I’m gonna figure out how to get you this shirt,’” Meghan told her followers that she’d said to the distraught mother.

“So I thought of everybody that I knew, and I made a voice note. And I was like, ‘Please, can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish? Here’s what I’m asking.’”

Meghan then showed the huge collection of signed Billie Eilish merchandise that had arrived at her home.

“Huge thank you, Billie Eilish. This is going to mean so much to her,” she gushed, adding that Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, had helped her “get this over the line”.

“To everyone who’s showing up for people in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in California, just thank you so much. I’m gonna go and email her mum now. Just wanted to share that with you guys,” she finished.
