A new series starring Meghan Markle’s long-time friend has shocked royal fans by featuring a vulgar comment about Princess Catherine.

A new blockbuster series starring one of Meghan Markle’s best friends makes a crude sexual remark about Princess Catherine.

Citadel, which is being screened on Amazon Prime Video and stars Priyanka Chopra, has shocked royal fans with the raunchy scene.

In the series’ third episode, Chopra, who plays espionage agent Nadia Sinh, gives instructions via an earpiece.

During a meeting with a crime boss, Chopra’s character reportedly instructs another character to say, “The chief of armed forces? You might as well have asked me how to get between the legs of the Duchess of Cambridge!”

The Princess of Wales likely still held the title of the Duchess of Cambridge when Citadel was shot, the New York Post reports.

Chopra has been close friends with the Duchess of Sussex for years and even attended Ms Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

The crude remark comes after Disney appeared to make a dig at Princess Catherine in the new live action remake of The Little Mermaid.

A critic who saw an early screening of the film noted the apparent remark, the New York Post reports.

The critic revealed that the film seems to draw a number of subtle yet plausible comparisons between Ms Markle and Prince Harry and the two lead characters, Ariel (who is black in the new movie) and Prince Eric (who is white).

The reviewer pointed to the scene where Ariel and Prince Eric meet and he has to try to guess her name.

“Ariel has sacrificed her voice in order to get to the surface and (meet) Prince Eric. She can’t speak so he tries to guess her name,” the reviewer said. “His first guess is Diana. His second guess is Catherine, but after (Ariel gives a disgusted) reaction, he (concludes) ‘OK, definitely not Catherine.’”

‘Disney would be disingenuous to imply those name choices were coincidental.’

The reviewer said there was nothing in the movie’s internal logic to otherwise explain the mermaid’s extreme response.

“Disney would be disingenuous to imply those name choices were coincidental,” he said.

In her bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Ms Markle herself said she identified with the mermaid after her 2018 wedding to Harry.
