‘All hell will break loose’: Royals brace for Meghan memoir
As the Sussex’s Hollywood empire crumbles, palace insiders fear the Duchess will name the alleged ‘royal racist’ in an ‘inevitable’ memoir to remain relevant.

With Prince Harry’s Spare the last genuine hit in the Sussex’s rapidly-crumbling Hollywood empire, royals reportedly fear Meghan Markle could name the family’s alleged “racist” in her inevitable memoir.
“All hell will likely break loose again,” said a well-placed royal insider, according to reports.
As Spotify cancelled Ms Markle’s podcast, and United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer blasted her as “talentless”, the King and Prince William are said to be keeping distant from the Sussexes amid fears of an “inevitable” memoir sequel.
“There’s not a lot of trust left to allow the family to maintain a good and open relationship,” the insider told the UK’s Telegraph.
“How do you speak openly without it ending up in volume two?” Or, indeed, Meghan’s memoirs, when the time inevitably comes. If the Duchess is minded to finally name the royal ‘racist’, then all hell will likely break loose again.”
Prince Harry and Ms Markle suggested in their infamous 2021 Oprah interview that a member of the royal family expressed “concern over how dark” the skin of their son, Archie, would be.
Prince Harry did not include the person’s identity in his memoir, which he said was cut in half to spare his family but that there was enough for “another book”.
The royals were “only just coming to terms” with the allegations in the Oprah interview when they published Spare in January, breaking sales records and setting the world alight with its salacious details of the family’s dirty laundry.
“There’s a sense of high irritation about everything they’ve done. The Netflix documentary was viewed as largely anodyne and nothing much to worry about — it’s the book that, for the family, has really cemented the view that all Harry ever seems to want to do is air his unhappiness,” they said.
Despite being continually called out by the House of Sussex, the King and Prince William are said to have stayed tight-lipped publicly and privately to avoid triggering the California side of the family ahead of a sequel to Spare.
Ms Markle, meanwhile, “fully intends” to write her own book now that the Hollywood elite is distancing themselves, royal commentator Joshua Rom told Fox News.
“They need to continue their links to the institution, they have planned to have future projects – Meghan reportedly has a book in the works,” he told the outlet.
King Charles, “sad” and “disappointed”, is said to be the only senior member of the royal family to have made direct contact since the Oprah interview, in the form of a letter, according to the Telegraph.
For the Prince and Princess of Wales, meanwhile, they’re reportedly determined not to be “sucked back into psychodrama” and “having no contact” seems to be the right answer for everybody.
“It’s a case of ‘Let the work speak for itself’. The working family is working hard and it is working,” another source said.
“You need a level of distance in order to be detached and do your job. In that respect, the Waleses are a bit like Queen Elizabeth II — they actively avoid conflict.”
