Natalie Portman has paid tribute to her inner circle with a rare candid post, months after it was revealed she had privately finalised her divorce.
The Thor actress, 43, shared an album of candid pictures with her closest friends on Instagram, writing alongside it: “This year, on my birthday, I want to celebrate my gratitude for my friends who lift me up again and again.”
Portman finalised her divorce from husband Benjamin Millepied, 46, in March after years of marriage amid allegations of infidelity.
The pair first met in 2009 on the set of her ballet movie, Black Swan, which he choreographed, and tied the knot three years later.
They share a son, Aleph, 12, and daughter, Amalia, 7.
People magazine previously reported that the actress had struggled throughout the process of their split after quietly filing for divorce in July 2023.
“It was initially really tough for her, but her friends rallied around her and helped get her through the worst of it,” an insider told the publication.
“Natalie is coming out of a really tough and painful year but she’s come out the other side of it stronger and is finding joy in her family, friends and work.”
Last year, sources revealed that the couple had separated due to Millepied’s alleged affair with a 25-year-old climate activist.
“They’ve been trying to work on their marriage but are currently on the outs,” an insider told Us Weekly.
Another source told Page Six at the time that Portman and Millepied were attempting to save their marriage.
“They have not split and are trying to work things out,” the source claimed.
“Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family.”
