Miley Cyrus has taken the surprise step of issuing a detailed public statement amid swirling rumours of a family feud.

Miley Cyrus set the record straight about her rumoured feud with her famous parents after her mother, Tish Cyrus, unfollowed her when she reunited with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
“I rarely comment on rumours but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us,” the singer wrote via her Instagram Stories overnight.
“She’s my best friend. Like a lot of moms, she doesn’t know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me — simple, coincidental and uninteresting.”
“My dad and I have had our challenges over the years. Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else.
“I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.”
Last week, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Tish unfollowed Miley on social media, though a source told Page Six “it was a glitch” and there was “no drama.”
They were quick to speculate that the matriarch was fuming after her famous daughter met up with Billy Ray to celebrate her brother Braison Cyrus’ 31st birthday.
A photo shared via Instagram saw the “Achy Breaky Heart” crooner posing with his son, Miley and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando.
The Party in the USA singer appeared in good spirits as she wrapped her arms around her beau.
A few days before their reunion, Billy Ray shared a video of Miley singing, captioning it, “Can’t wait to see this young lady.”
The Cyrus family has been in the middle of years-long feud rumours since the country singer and Tish divorced in 2022.
The split “put a strain on [Miley’s] relationship with her dad,” an insider told E! News at the time.
Miley notably excluded Billy Ray from her acceptance speech after her 2023 hit Flowers won record of the year at the Grammys.
In 2023, Tish remarried Aussie Prison Break star Dominic Purcell, which allegedly received the disapproval of her daughter Noah Cyrus.
Noah was reportedly seeing Purcell when “Tish started pursuing him,” per Us Weekly. The mother-daughter duo, however, has appeared to have reconciled.
Billy Ray, meanwhile, married singer Firerose that same year, and they divorced in 2024.
He’s since moved on with actress Elizabeth Hurley.
