Meghan Markle’s bizarre new role in coffee ad

The Duchess of Sussex has stepped back in front of the camera in an unexpected new cameo, as it’s revealed she thought Prince Harry had “more money” when they met.

Meghan Markle makes unexpected acting comeback in coffee company ad

Meghan Markle is back in front of the cameras, appearing in a slightly cringey new ad for a coffee company she holds shares in.

The former Suits star appears in US coffee brand Clevr Blends’ latest commercial as an intern.

She is seen stacking boxes and brewing coffee as well as typing away at a computer in the digital department.

“Damn, you’re keeping us BUSY right now! Had to call in some reinforcements,” the brand teased Meghan’s cameo.

The video, which was shared with the brand’s 78,000 followers on Instagram, starts with CEO and co-founder Hannah Mendoza welcoming viewers to “Clevr HQ.”

At the end of the video Meghan fails to fist bump a colleague as she walks off camera causing the whole team to laugh out loud.

Meghan features alongside Mendoza during the ad which was filmed at the company’s headquarters.

The footage was shared on Clevr Blends’ Instagram page with the caption: “So grateful for the immense love and support this year — thanks for helping us keep the latte-loving dream alive, and thriving!”

In the clip, Meghan can be seen wearing glasses as Mendoza introduces the “very smart, only slightly nerdy digital team”.

Clevr Blends is based in California where the Sussexes have lived since 2020.

It was founded by Mendoza and Roger Coppola in Santa Barbara in 2019.
Its website states that “ethics are always at the forefront of our product”, adding: “We prioritise working with smaller, family run ingredient suppliers or those with more transparent supply chains.”

Meghan first announced she was backing the “wellness brand” in December 2020.

She told Fortune magazine: “This investment is in support of a passionate female entrepreneur who prioritises building community alongside her business.

“I’m proud to invest in Hannah’s commitment to sourcing ethical ingredients and creating a product that I personally love and [that] has a holistic approach to wellness.

“I believe in her and I believe in her company.”

On Meghan’s investment, Mendoza said: “Entrepreneurs need funding, but they also need advisers who care deeply about what they are building. I’m grateful to have found both in the Duchess of Sussex.

“Her passion for what we’re creating is palpable, and I couldn’t imagine a more aligned partnership. We’re excited for the road ahead.”

It is unclear just how much money the royal invested into the company which sells latte powders in matcha, chai and coffee flavours.

MEGHAN THOUGHT SHE WOULD ‘LIVE IN A PALACE’

Meanwhile, a royal author has declared that when Meghan started dating Prince Harry, she didn’t realise she “wasn’t going to live in a palace”.

Before they relocated to California, the couple first lived together in the four-bedroom Nottingham Cottage – modest by royal standards – on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where Prince Harry proposed.

They later relocated to the five-bedroom Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

Despite it undergoing a $4.5 million renovation, the author claims the former Suits actress found it a “jail sentence”.

“She didn’t realise when she hooked up with Harry that he didn’t have much money and wasn’t going to live in a palace,” he said.

“They didn’t have the pressure [to make a huge income while in the UK] when they didn’t have a very large house overlooking the Pacific.

“Meghan never wanted to live in a small house in England. For her, Frogmore was like a jail sentence.”

The couple now live in a $20 million mansion in Montecito.

When they stepped back from royal duties, they said in their statement they would be “financially independent” as they “carve out a progressive new role”.

They have since looked to capitalise on their global fame in order to become financially independent.

They have banked an estimated $220 million from multimedia deals, working with the likes of Spotify and Netflix. Spotify axed the couple’s deal this year and their tenure with Netflix is said to be on thin ice.
