MAFS star Jessika Power heartbroken over the murder of ex-boyfriend Sam “The Punisher” Abdulrahim

Jessika Power has been left heartbroken over the death of her ex-boyfriend, Melbourne underworld figure Sam ‘The Punisher’ Abdulrahim.

Married At First Sight star Jessika Power has shared her devastation over the brutal killing of her ex-boyfriend.

Sam “The Punisher” Abdulrahim was shot multiple times, including in the head in an alleged ambush in the car park of Quest Hotel on High St in Preston about 10am on Tuesday.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Power shared that they had been in regular contact up until just weeks before his death.

“It’s been really, really hard to hear,” Power said. “We ended on really good terms. He’s always been supportive to me if I needed him, even up until a few months ago.”

“I just feel so sad for his wife and his child – she’s going to grow up without a dad and it’s such a toxic world to be in that underworld thing.”

Power met Abdulrahim through mutual friends, and the pair quickly hit it off before making things public in May of 2019.

The former MAFS star said that her ex was a “family man” who was a “really good guy”.

“Everybody looks at these bikies and Mongols as bad people, but he was a family man, he was dedicated to his family,’ she said.

“He was protective of his family and he was certainly protective of me when we were together.

“He’s a dad, he’s a husband, he’s someone’s son and he’s just a really good guy.”

She went on to share that a big reason for the split was Abdulrahim’s connections to the criminal underworld.

“I just feel like that underworld thing at the minute in Melbourne and Sydney is just getting out of hand,” she said.

“It was part of the reason why I ended up leaving because I just didn’t want to be around that.”

“It appears at this stage that the male was walking towards his car and the offender has approached and a number of shots were fired,” detective inspector Dean Thomas said.

Abdulrahim’s distraught girlfriend attempted to provide first aid and CPR to the underworld figure, but he died at the scene.

Thomas said Victoria Police had not been made aware of any imminent “live threat” to Abdulrahim’s life.

“If we did, we would have done what we could to share that information with him,” he told the media.

“There’s always concern around retaliation … there will be a high visible police presence in the area over the coming days,” he continued.

“But we have nothing at this stage to suggest there will be retaliation. This investigation has the full weight of Victoria Police behind it … we’ll leave no stone unturned until we identify those responsible.”
