Joe Exotic has urged Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to help him get of out prison.
Last week, the controversial Netflix star made international headlines with his bizarre campaigning for the Labor leader across his social media accounts.
Now that Albanese has been returned to office, Exotic is hoping that his previous support across social media might mean that the PM will do him a favour in return.
During an appearance on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick, the Tiger King star urged the presenter’s to pass on a message.
“If you ever get to talk to Mr Albanese tell him to look at the evidence. Tell him to watch Tiger King season two, where they all admit to perjury. Have him pick up the phone to President Trump and say, ‘enough is enough’.”
Exotic is serving time for multiple offences, including a murder-for-hire plot targeting animal activist - and the zookeeper’s known nemesis - Carole Baskin.
He was also found guilty of multiple violations of the Endangered Species Act after killing five tigers, plus falsifying wildlife records.
He is currently serving a 21-year sentence, although some changes have been made since his conviction in 2020.
Albanese was made aware of Exotic’s endorsement during an address at the National Press Club last week when he was quizzed by a journalist.
The Prime Minister replied: “It’s good to see some levity.”
“I have a very passionate, support for one particular animal — Toto — and I’m looking forward to voting with her on Saturday,” he said, referencing his dog.
After Exotic’s campaigning went viral, the jailed TV star was forced to clarify that the PM didn’t “pay him” for the endorsement.
“No Anthony Albanese did not pay me,” he clarified on Instagram.
“I made a public offer to work for their zoo for free for six months or any other wildlife conservation if he would call President Trump and ask for me to be released based on the American government’s witnesses have admitted to perjury. I will make the same offer to President Trump or the President of Mexico.”
