‘Insecure’ Sia reveals liposuction after putting on ‘a lot of weight’

The Aussie singer has opened up about her latest cosmetic procedure, just months after undergoing a facelift.

Sia openly admitted to getting liposuction to lose weight in an attempt to be “truthful” about her appearance.

“Had to take a medication that made me put on a lot of weight that I just can’t shift with exercise or thyroid meds so I went in for lipo today,” the Unstoppable singer tweeted on Saturday, reports Page Six.

The musician, whose full name is Sia Furler, explained that she decided to be “truthful” about her cosmetic procedures because she doesn’t want to “contribute to the system that tells us we aren’t enough.”

“Please know that I am so lucky to have the resources to change the way I look and that when you see me looking crazy foxy again that I want you to know it did not come from diet and exercise,” she continued.

“I am insecure like most people and being in the public eye gives me anxiety, so I’ve made the choice to alter my appearance for my own confidence issues. Pray for me please!”

This isn’t the first time the Chandelier songstress, 47, has admitted to going under the knife.

Sia, who is known for covering her face with wigs, revealed onstage at the 2023 Daytime Beauty Awards in October that she had a facelift.

“I’m a pop star that normally hides my face and doesn’t lie about s**t,” the hitmaker said while showcasing her entire face to the audience.

“I got an amazing facelift from Dr. Talei,” she added, standing alongside the plastic surgeon. “He is incredible, and he is doing so much good work — and not just for the pop stars of the world.”

Following her rise to stardom, the Cheap Thrills singer explained in 2015 why she opted to conceal her identity from the public.

“I don’t want to be famous or recognisable. I don’t want to be critiqued about the way that I look on the internet,” she told Chris Connelly on Nightline.

“I’ve been writing pop songs for pop stars now for a couple of years, and I’ve become friends with them and see what their life is like, and that’s not something I want.”
