‘I couldn’t care less’: Kyle Sandilands details ongoing feud with Aussie model Megan Gale

Shock jock Kyle Sandilands has opened up about his beef with Megan Gale years after he called her a “phony” on air.

Kyle Sandilands has revisited his years-long feud with Aussie model Megan Gale.

The shock jock was reminded of their supposed bad blood this morning on The Kyle and Jackie O Show when a producer revealed that Gale always knocks back requests for her to appear on the program.

Co-host Jackie “O” Henderson said it was likely Gale “politely declines” interviews with the duo because Sandilands once went on a rant 12 years ago in which he called the former David Jones ambassador a “phony”.

As per the Daily Mail, Sandilands also reportedly called Gale “boring” and “nothing special” while she was dating comedian Andy Lee.

“I didn’t mean ‘nothing special to look at.’ I said we’ve been interviewing Megan Gale for 10 years and I [still] don’t know her,” Sandilands said on air, saying his words were taken out of context.

“Since I said that, we’ve never had her on [the show]. But no skin off my d**k, I couldn’t care less.”

Kyle Sandilands came under fire for saying model Megan Gale was “nothing special”.

At the time, Gale was due to appear on The Kyle & Jackie O Show but pulled out of her appearance after hearing his on-air tirade.

“I don’t like her and there’s no reason for me not to like her – it’s just that I don’t and never have,” Sandilands said in his 2011 rant.

“She’s not awful or anything, I just don’t care for her, I just don’t find her warm. I’m happy to cancel her interview if you like.”

Henderson tried to defend Gale at the time, arguing she was a “strong and intelligent woman”, but Sandilands was ruthless.

“I don’t have ill feelings for her at all. I just don’t give a sh*t about her,” he added. “I don’t find her to be an intelligent, together or strong woman – I just think she’s a phony.”

After promptly cancelling the interview, Gale defended herself on FoxFM’s now-axed Matt and Jo Show, where she admitted she was shocked by his vitriol given she had appeared on The Kyle & Jackie O Show several times a year for nearly a decade.

“I’ve probably been going on that show for 10 years... and every single time on and off-air he’d say to me, ‘I love having you on, anytime you want to come on, it’s so good to see you,’” Gale told hosts Matt Tilley and Jo Stanley. “So you can imagine my shock with someone who’s looked me in the eye and then has called me phony.”

Gale said she doesn’t expect everyone to like her, but a little professionalism would be appreciated.

“Even if you guys didn’t like me, you’re professional enough to go, ‘We’re not necessarily a fan of hers but we have a job to do’, so you have them on,” she reasoned.

“There’s no need to just rip into someone publicly.”
