‘Two beautiful nepo babies’: Kate Langbroek confirms son’s romance with Kate Ceberano’s daughter

Kate Langbroek has spoken publicly for the first time about her son Lewis’ romance with Kate Ceberano’s daughter, Gypsy.

Kate Langbroek has spoken publicly for the first time about her son Lewis’ budding romance with Kate Ceberano’s daughter, Gypsy Rogers.

In an interview on Stellar’s weekly podcast Something To Talk About, the radio host spoke fondly of her son’s girlfriend, saying she loves how the “two beautiful nepo babies” fell in love before her eyes.

“It’s sort of early days as well so you sort of don’t want to be putting an expectation on them,” Langbroek told Stellar editor-in-chief and podcast host Sarrah Le Marquand.

“But she’s absolutely, she’s just such a beauty. She’s divine.”

“And they’re both really beautiful, two beautiful nepo babies who, neither of whom are casual, do you know what I mean?”

However, Langbroek did admit it took a while to wrap her head around her 20-year-old son being all grown up and in a relationship.

“That transition is such a massive one of suddenly like your baby, calling someone baby,” she said.

“Like going on to a romantic part of their life is, I gather from other people, can just be a huge thing. But it’s kind of just happened seamlessly so far. Let me touch wood.”

The former Hughesy & Kate host said she loves Gypsy, 19, who is a singer just like her famous mum.

Although Langbroek says she was “never particularly territorial” about Lewis, she has always been protective of him given he was diagnosed with leukaemia when he was just 6 years old.

The family rallied around a young Lewis for almost four years before he got the all clear.

He still has regular check-ups to this day, and Langbroek knows he is in good hands with Gypsy by his side.

“I am surprised with the ease that which I’ve taken to his new relationship and it just feels like the most natural thing in the world,” the proud mum said.

“But also they’re not kind of madly intense or performative or PDA-ish or whatever, and she’s just such a beautiful songbird. She’s just so gorgeous.”

Gypsy Rogers and Lewis have already gone Instagram-official.

Langbroek – who shares Lewis and three younger children with husband Peter Allen Lewis – says her family’s values align perfectly with Gypsy’s family’s as both households are “very relaxed”.

In fact, they get along so well that Ceberano gave the Langbroek’s a new puppy.

“We love the puppy that [Gypsy] and Kate arrived with one night at our house,” she said.

“Our little puppy Bearsky, who they had got for their dog Pluto, but Pluto didn’t like him. And so they brought him to our house and we were like, ‘Hang on a minute. Hang on a minute.’ That’s how we got our dog.”

Gypsy is Ceberano’s only child with her husband of 27 years, director and producer Lee Rogers.
