Photos reveal new Gen Z celeb couple

A new celebrity couple has hit the streets of London and the pair have one very awkward thing in common.

Actor Paul Mescal and musician Gracie Abrams have seemingly confirmed their relationship by holding hands.

Mescal, 28, who got his big break on Normal People and is set to star in the upcoming Gladiator movie, looked very trendy.

He wore a classic combination of jeans and a white T-shirt as he held hands with filmmaker JJ Abram’s daughter.

Meanwhile, Abrams, 24, who has just released her sophomore album, The Secret of Us, wore a half-buttoned cardigan, low pants, and an oversized belt.

It was all very Gen Z hipster chic. I mean, Mescal was even carrying a tote bag.

Mescal threw an arm around Abrams as the hipster couple made their way around central London, and at some point, Mescal’s paw seemed to be in Abram’s mouth.

Both Mescal and Abrams are in the middle of big career moments. Mescal has the upcoming Gladiator movie and keeps going viral for wearing tiny shorts.

Abrams is riding the high of a successful second album release. She was also an opening act for Taylor Swift on her sellout Eras tour and Swift even featured on one of the songs on her second album.

Mescal and Abrams have been spotted hanging out a few times now, but the internet couldn’t work out if they were just mates or if it was romantic.

Having someone’s hand in your mouth does seem to suggest romance.

Here’s the thing about Abrams and Mescal: they run in the same circles, even though he’s an Irish actor and she’s an American indie musician with a famous dad who created the US television series Lost.

Mescal used to date Phoebe Bridgers, another musician who also opened for Taylor Swift. Abrams and Bridgers are aware of each other; there are photos of them at events together, and Abrams once covered Bridgers’ song Funeral at a concert.

Mescal and Bridgers dated for a while and broke up in late 2022.

Their relationship was public because they met after she tweeted about his performance in Normal People and he replied.

Meeting on social media meant fans could watch them fall in love, but Mescal told Vanity Fair that he didn’t plan to have a public relationship again.

“I definitely feel the temptation to say the status of my whatever – that will always be there. But I don’t think that’s a wise thing to do – moving forward as much as I can, that’s going to be my life that is private,” he said.

Abrams dated songwriter Blake Slatkin for almost five years. Since then, she’s been linked to actor Dylan O’Brien, but neither confirmed the relationship.
