Isla Fisher has taken a savage swipe at the sanctity of marriage just weeks after finalising her divorce from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.
Taking to Instagram, the Aussie actress, 49, shared an age-old quote about the notion of marriage that has been given quite the modern-day update.
“For all the men who say, ‘Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?’ Here’s an update for you,” her post read, before it took a brutal honest turn.
“Nowadays, 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realise it’s not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage.”

The post appears to be an indirect swipe at her ex Cohen, 53, who Fisher split from in April 2024 after 14 years of marriage and two children.
The cheeky comment was in stark contrast to the joint statement they released last month upon finalising their divorce, in which they gushed about having “great respect for each other”.
“Our divorce has now been finalised,” the exes both announced on their respective Instagram accounts. “We are proud of all we’ve achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children.”
“We ask for the media to continue to respect our children’s privacy.”
Earlier this week, Fisher seemed to suggest their friendship was still in tact when she shared a hilarious comment about their co-parenting arrangement on Instagram.
After they were both photographed attending the mens singles final at Wimbledon in London on the same day, albeit separately, Fisher couldn’t help but joke about it the following day.
Sharing a screenshot of a Daily Mail article about their separate sightings at centre court, Fisher tagged the Borat star in her post which she captioned, “Hang on? Who’s watching the kids? @sachabaroncohen.”
Fisher also shared photos from her Wimbledon outing, which she experienced with her older brother Daniel and famous friends, such as Emily in Paris star Lily Collins.
Meanwhile, Cohen was pictured courtside elsewhere with a male friend.
Coincidentally, the exes shared a tennis-themed post to announce their separation last year.
In their announcement post, they posed in matching tennis outfits as they revealed they were finally “putting our racquets down” after a “long tennis match lasting over twenty years”.
They were first linked in 2002 before marrying in 2010, but as it turned out, they had secretly filed for separation in 2023.
“In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage,” they wrote in the tennis-inspired post. “We have always prioritised our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change.”
“We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
They share three kids: daughters Olive, 17, and Elula, 15, and son Montgomery, 10.
