Oasis guitarist Andy Bell has confirmed he will join Noel and Liam Gallagher for the band’s sold-out reunion tour.
Bell joined Oasis in 2000 after bassist Paul McGuigan quit as the band recorded its fourth album, Standing on the Shoulder of Giants.
The Oasis Live ‘25 world tour was announced in August last year, two days before the 30th anniversary of the band’s debut album, Definitely Maybe leading to a resurgence of hit favourites like Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger and Champagne Supernova in the UK charts.
The first announced concerts sold out immediately, culminating in the biggest concert launch ever seen in the UK and Ireland and over 10 million fans from 158 countries queuing to buy tickets.
Oasis formed in Manchester, northwest England, in 1991 and quickly found success with multi-platinum selling albums and sell out gigs and tours into the 2000s.
The band became a worldwide cultural phenomenon and has been credited with helping to create the Britpop era of the 1990s.
The brothers had an acrimonious relationship with their rows becoming legendary before Noel finally called it quits after a backstage altercation during their Dig Out Your Soul Tour in 2009.
After disbanding the Gallaghers went separate ways forming their own bands – Liam fronting Beady Eye and Noel, High Flying Birds – but the brothers continued to trade blows via the media before reconciling to announce the 2025 tour.
The reunion tour will be the first time the brothers have been seen together since the bust up 15 years ago.
And, for Aussie fans, it’ll be the first time Oasis has performed Down Under in 19 years.
Singer and guitarist Bell – who has just completed a European tour with his band Ride – said he was ready to start tour rehearsals with his former bandmates.
“I’m in and I’m really looking forward to it,” he recently told Austrian newspaper Oe24.
“We’ll see each other on tour. Or rather, you’ll see me – I’ll hardly be able to see you in the audience.”
As revealed by The Sun’s Ellie Henman earlier this year, the Oasis reunion line-up will also include Gem Archer, Bonehead and drummer Joey Waronker.
Oasis co-manager Alec McKinlay described the tour as a “once off” for fans to see Noel and Liam perform together again.
“This is the last time around, as Noel has made clear in the press,” McKinlay told Music Week.
“It is a chance for fans who haven’t seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to. But no, there’s no plan for any new music.”
The Oasis Live ‘25 world tour kicks off in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4, and ends on November 23 in Sao Paulo, Brazil after five shows in Australia.
The Australian leg, produced by Live Nation, includes three shows in Melbourne and two in Sydney from October 31 to November 8.
