Dennis Quaid, 71, shares rare insight into marriage to Laura Savoie, 32: ‘My life is paradise’

Dennis Quaid reveals why his fourth marriage, to a woman nearly four decades younger than him, has become his “closest relationship”.

Dennis Quaid has shared a rare insight into his marriage with Laura Savoie, who is 39 years his junior.

The Parent Trap actor opened up about his relationship in a new interview with Fox News Digital this week, telling the outlet they are still very much in the honeymoon phase, five years after wedding.

“My life is paradise,” the 71-year-old said. “Every day is paradise with her. It really is.”

“It’s the closest relationship I’ve ever had with anybody. Every day is paradise. What can I tell you? I don’t know why God had waited so long to bring her, for her to come along, but [I’m] really glad he brought her into my life, or I walked into hers.”

Quaid has been married three times before, exchanging vows in the past with actresses P.J. Soles and Meg Ryan, who he was married to from 1991 to 2001 during which they welcomed a son, actor Jack Quaid, now 33.

He was also married to real estate broker Kimberly Buffington from 2004 to 2018 and together they share twins Thomas and Zoe, 17.

As for the huge age gap between them, Quaid said it’s never been an issue in their relationship because 32-year-old Savoie – a Texas McCombs School of Business graduate – is “the light of my life”.

“I haven’t spoken out about the age difference of my wife. Other people have. But…I really don’t think about it,” he admitted.

“She’s got so much going on that, you know, I just don’t notice it.”

The couple eloped in June 2020 in Santa Barbara, California, one year after meeting at a business event while she was working toward her second master’s degree at the Texas McCombs School of Business.

They wed in a seaside resort only with only their pastor as their witness.

“Just looking into her eyes, she was the most stunning bride,” Quaid later told People of the intimate affair.

“It was love at first sight,” he added of their first meeting. “I just love who she is as a person. Her character, her intelligence, of course, her beauty. And her point of view of the world.”
