Australian chef Pete Evans claims to have met with President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk at Mar-a-Lago, as he sets his sights on a career in the US.
The former My Kitchen Rules host, who became embroiled in controversy in 2020 for peddling unfounded anti-vaccination views on social media, took to his Instagram account Sunday with a photo of the American flag at Mr Trump’s lavish Florida resort, saying he had a “beautiful evening” rubbing shoulders with the president and his team.
“Beautiful evening at @themaralagoclub with some wonderful friends, Dave and Melissa who invited me for dinner,” Evans wrote.
“Got to meet and shake hands with the legendary DJ that was spinning the tracks all night for his guests, the President @realdonaldtrump as well as @elonmusk and @jamesokeefeiii.”

Evans, who has had an association with vaccine sceptic, and newly minted United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for several years, has been promoting his involvement with the Make America Healthy Again campaign, a plan devised by Kennedy to tackle poor diet and health in the US.
More recently, Evans, 52, and Kennedy, 71, teamed up on the former Channel 7 star’s latest cookbook, Healthy Food for Healthy Kids, which hit stands in January.
Talking about his links with the Make America Healthy Again movement, Evans sat down for a televised interview with US broadcaster Ed Henry on Newsmax earlier this month, where he said he had been cancelled by his home country for questioning vaccinate mandates during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I used to host Australia’s number one commercial TV show for many, many years,” Evans said.
“And when Covid came around, I was very sceptical about the whole mandate … especially to do with the shots and social distancing and mask wearing and everything. And I voiced my opinion, and it didn’t go down too well in this country.”

Speaking to his partnership with Kennedy, whom he referred to as ‘Bobby’, Evans praised the health secretary for promoting healthy eating as the US grapples with what Mr Trump has described as a “chronic disease epidemic”.
“It’s such an honour to be able to work with Children’s Health Defense and Bobby’s team, and Bobby is one of the most miraculous, brave, beautiful individuals that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with over the last four or five years, and he inspires me daily, as he, no doubt, inspires a lot of people,” he said.
“And I just want to congratulate him for the tenacity and the determination and for what he is about to about to change, I believe, and bring to the fore … often times health is sort of pushed to the side.”
Kennedy has repeatedly made false claims about vaccinations over the years, including that vaccines cause “autism”, which he doubled down on in a 2023 interview with Fox News.
Evans, for his part, parted ways with Channel 7 in 2020, and went on to share increasingly bizarre posts on social media.
Notably, he appeared to promote the idea Covid was a conspiracy, with a story posted on Instagram detailing a list of things people need to “look out for” – certain code words and implying “mass trials” and “executions” were happening behind closed doors.
He also shared a detailed graph showing links between a “Great Awakening”, a “Great Solar Flash”, “Secret Space Program”, and “machine elves”.
