The glam Project host could’ve passed by unnoticed on her summer holiday, flying under the radar with kids and partner in tow.

The Project host Carrie Bickmore enjoyed a low-key family summer holiday before returning to the show on Monday night, looking almost unrecognisable in some snaps posted to social media.

The glam Logie winner went make-up free and hid her famous face under a baseball cap in photos from her summer break, telling her followers she felt “grateful” for the break from work.

The star, who grew up in Perth, said she was “still missing many of the people I love badly due to the WA border closure” but was feeling “so lucky … to even have some downtime as a fam”.

In another post, she said she was relishing the holiday with son Oliver, 14, before he gets too old to want to join family trips.

“Savouring the summers with my glorious manchild before his friends become way more fun to holiday with than his fam (outwardly trying to give him independence and freedom while internally being a stage 5 clinger),” she wrote.

Bickmore was straight back into work on Monday, co-hosting both The Project and her radio show with Tommy Little.

Last night’s episode of The Project saw fellow co-host Lisa Wilkinson blast the “obscene” mess Australia has found itself in as rapid antigen tests (RATs) sell for exorbitant prices and thousands around the country are forced into Covid isolation.

Unable to return to WA, Bickmore said she was still missing much of her family.

A day earlier, Wilkinson offered an emotional on-air tribute to one of The Project’s most frequent guests during the pandemic, Professor Mary-Louise McLaws.

The respected epidemiologist revealed over the weekend that she is taking time off after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

After breaking the news to viewers, Wilkinson became choked up with emotion as she addressed Prof McLaws directly.

“Mary-Louise, I think it’s fair to say that all of us here at The Project were heartbroken to hear the news. In these troubled times, your calm, considered information and advice has been invaluable to millions of Australians across the country and we want to thank you so much for being so generous with your knowledge, your time and we wish you and your beautiful family all the strength in the world at this difficult time.”
