An episode of beloved Aussie cartoon Bluey has been pulled from a US streaming service after it was deemed ‘inappropriate’.

Bluey fans fuming as hilarious episode mysteriously disappears in US

An episode of beloved kid’s show Bluey featuring flatulence was barred from US streaming service Disney+ after it was deemed “inappropriate” for audiences.

The cheeky Aussie cartoon following the life of a family of dogs has become a worldwide sensation, but for US audiences, a seemingly innocent episode about dad Bandit being accused of letting off a fart in front of his eldest daughter was left off the schedule of the show’s third season.

According to the streaming service, the episode titled “Family Meeting” did not meet its standards and practices guidelines at the time, but they have since rescinded the decision.

A Disney Branded Television employee has since told Pirates and Princesses the episode will soon be available, explaining they had a change of heart.

“‘Family Meeting’ will roll out on US platforms soon. Some of the Bluey content did not meet Disney Junior broadcast S & P in place at the time the series was acquired,” they said.

“Now that it is rolling out on other platforms, it is a great opportunity to re-evaluate which is what we plan to do.”

In the episode, Bandit is accused of farting in Bluey’s face as he climbs out of bed.

The award-winning three-season children’s cartoon follows the adventures of a Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her family and finds herself in silly and unpredictable situations.

It has become wildly popular in the US, winning the Kids: Preschool Award at the 2019 International Emmys, the same year Disney+ began distributing the series internationally.

As reported by Kidspot earlier this year, Bluey’s Aussie twang is even beginning to rub off on American fans, with a South Louisiana mum noticing her toddler Charlie’s slight accent in a TikTok video posted in April.

A number of parents weighed-in that their kids have started using Aussie colloquialisms, too.

“My daughter says ‘it’s going to take ages’ and I honestly love it so much,” one fan commented.

“My son calls it the ‘petrol’ station instead of the gas station,” another shared.

And another admitted: “My kids laugh and ask for the dunny.”

An Aussie fan laughed: “Payback for all the Thomas kids who sound like they are from Liverpool and Disney American accents.”

Bluey’s popularity doesn’t appear to be slowing down. Last year, The New York Times described the show as ‘the biggest Australian export since The Wiggles’.
